Lincoln’s Tomb

A good video of a visit to Lincoln’s tomb, although the ominous music was a bizarre choice for what is a straightforward visit to the tomb.  The tomb is located in Oak Ridge Cemetary in Springfield.   My family and I visit it each year.  The tomb is located not far from the entrance to the cemetary.  Free parking is located near the tomb, and for a major historical site it has a nice small town feel about it.  Traffic is very light and the typical visit is low key.  No security is present at the tomb, just volunteers to answer questions.  Lincoln and his wife and kids are present, all except Robert.  Robert wanted to be buried at the tomb, but after he died at 83 his wife decided otherwise and had him buried at Arlington.  As a Union veteran, Robert was of course entitled to be buried there, but it is a shame that his wife did not respect his wishes.
