Something for the weekend.  We Three Kings Of Orient Are.  Written in 1857 for a Christmas pageant his nieces and nephews were appearing in, this hymn written by John Henry Hopkins, Jr., an Episcopalian deacon, did not see print until 1863 in the midst of the Civil War and immediately struck a chord with the American people.  Since then, year in and year out, it has remained one of the favorite American Christmas hymns.
